It does straighten my hair, but problem is.. it doesn't stay straight very long. When I use an FHI hair straightener it stays straight for about an hour than it messes up again. I really wish I bought a CHI instead, but because that hair straightener was on sale for 60$ I got that instead.

maybe it could be your hair type.
add some frizz creme or straightening creme from sunsilk for your hair to hold flat ironed styles.
that should to the trick.
